SportsXD is a product of Crepton Tech ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use SportsXD (sportsxd.com and associated mobile applications).

By creating an account or using SportsXD, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you register, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Username and display name
  • Country of residence
  • Profile photo URL (if provided)
  • Biography (if provided)

2.2 Activity Data

We collect data generated by your use of SportsXD, including:

  • Match predictions and results
  • XD Points transactions (earnings and redemptions)
  • Sports and teams you follow
  • Posts, replies, and reactions in the community
  • Login dates and streak data
  • Device tokens for push notifications

2.3 Technical Data

We automatically collect:

  • IP address
  • Device type and browser
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Error logs

2.4 Data from Third Parties

We receive sports data from API-Football (api-football.com). We do not receive personal data from third parties.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve the SportsXD service
  • Personalise your sports feed and recommendations
  • Send push notifications about matches, predictions, and XD Points (if enabled)
  • Display leaderboards and rankings
  • Investigate reports of abuse or violations of our Terms of Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

SportsXD uses the following third-party services that may process your data:

  • API-Football (api-football.com) — sports data provider
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — push notification delivery
  • Tenor (Google) — GIF search in community chat (search queries only)
  • Unsplash — sports imagery (no personal data shared)

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on servers located in the European Union. We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (TLS 1.3)
  • Encrypted storage of sensitive data
  • JWT-based authentication with short token lifetimes
  • Regular security reviews

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (for example, financial transaction records).

Community posts you have published may remain visible in an anonymised form ("[deleted]") after account deletion.

7. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and personal data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to processing of your data

8. Cookies and Local Storage

SportsXD stores authentication tokens in your browser's local storage. These are essential for the service to function and cannot be disabled.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

9. Children's Privacy

SportsXD is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at legal@creptontech.com.

10. International Users

SportsXD is operated from Kenya. If you access SportsXD from outside Kenya, your data may be transferred to and processed in Kenya or the European Union. By using SportsXD, you consent to this transfer.

For users in the European Union, we process your data on the lawful basis of contract performance (to provide the service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (to improve and secure our service).

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued use of SportsXD after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
